How to get there?

By airplane

You can fly either to Porto Airport or to Lisbon airport.

From Porto Airport, it is possible to take a Taxi, Uber, or the E line of Metro do Porto (subway), by buying the Z4 Ticket to the Campanhã train station (41 min). There are train connections from Porto to Coimbra almost every hour: by taking IC (Intercidades) or Alfa Pendular (which is the fastest train in Portugal).

From Lisbon Airport, it is possible to take a Taxi, Uber, or the Red line of Metro de Lisboa to the Oriente train station (Estação do Oriente) in 10 min-ish. There are train connections from Lisboa to Coimbra almost every hour: IC/Alfa. You can also take the Regional type of train (which is a more affordable option, but also takes longer to arrive at the destination)

By train

Coimbra´s railway station is in the city's center, with different types of trains and fast services to all main cities in Portugal.

By Bus:

You can also take a BUS to Coimbra at either one of the airports or from different locations in the cities of Porto and Lisbon.

By car from airports

You can always rent a car and drive yourself.

If traveling by car, pay attention to Electronic Tolls if you use highways: Some highways in Portugal have electronic tolls exclusively. All lanes with electronic tolls are properly identified using the reference "Electronic toll only".
